What we collect
- To provide your cleaning: your name, phone number, email, the address of the property and any access instructions you give us.
- To take payment: records of your payments and invoices. Card payments are handled by our payment partner (for example Paystack or Flutterwave); we never receive your card number.
- About the work: checklists, before-and-after photos of the cleaned areas, and any issues reported during the visit.
- When you apply to work with us: the details you send in the application form.
- Website security: technical information such as your IP address, used to protect the site from abuse.
How we use it
We use your information to arrange and carry out your cleaning, send you messages about your booking, take payment, keep accounting records, handle complaints and improve our service. We send marketing messages only if you have agreed to receive them.
Who can see it
Only staff who need it for their role. Cleaners see your address and access instructions only for jobs assigned to them, and only shortly before the visit. We share information with service providers who help us run the business (payment, email and SMS providers, and our website host), only for that purpose.
How long we keep it
Booking and payment records are kept for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting. Job photos are kept for as long as needed to handle any complaint. You can ask us to delete your account; we then remove your personal details but keep the financial records the law requires.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to its use, or withdraw consent you have given. Contact us at washroommate@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Security
Staff accounts with access to personal or financial information use two-step sign-in, uploaded documents are stored outside the public website, and every change to bookings, payments and settings is recorded.
